Swimming Programs
Parent and Tot
For babies 6 months to 3 years and their meaningful adult. These 20-minute lessons are held twice weekly and provide fun experiences that promote water safety and basic swimming skills. Max 5 tots per class.
Preschool (Ages 3–5)
Fun 30-minute classes twice weekly focused on building safety and swimming skills for young children.
Octopus – Level 1
- Get in/out of water independently
- Put face in water with eyes open and closed
- Blow bubbles
- Float on back
Crab – Level 2
- Submerge head fully, exhale underwater
- Float front and back
- Jump into water with support
- Start flutter kick holding wall
Orca – Level 3
- Jump into water unsupported
- Float independently on front/back (3+ seconds)
- Retrieve objects up to 1.5m deep
- Flutter kick with kickboard
Sea Lion – Level 4
- Glide 3m front/back
- Jump into deep water in life jacket
- Swim underwater 3m
- Flutter kick front/back (no board/with board)
Narwhal – Level 5
- Jump into deep water and return independently
- Swim front crawl 5m
- Intro to backstroke arm movements
- Flutter kick on front/back/side
Youth (Ages 5+)
30-minute classes on Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu using interactive and responsive methods to teach water safety and swim skills.
Swimmer 1
- Blow bubbles, hold breath, float/glide front and back
- Intro to flutter kick (front/back)
Swimmer 2
- Jump into deep water with life jacket
- Float, kick, glide front and back
Swimmer 3
- Tread water (15s)
- Intro to whip kick
- Swim front crawl & backstroke 10m
Swimmer 4
- Tread water 30s
- Kneeling dives, underwater summersault
- Whip kick 10m (back)
- Swim 15m front crawl & backstroke
Swimmer 5
- Tread water with egg beater 30s
- Dive headfirst into deep water
- Whip kick 15m (front), intro to breaststroke with breathing
- Swim 25m front crawl & backstroke
